Metis Consulting assists Saint-Gobain Sully in the definition of its ‘Industry 4.0’ strategy
Saint-Gobain Sully is the world leader manufacturer and seller of high-tech glazing for the aeronautics, armored and marine industries, in particular it equips the cockpit of the A320 and the Rafale windows. Saint-Gobain Sully faces two challenges: supporting the growth of its business and improving OTIF (On Time In Full). To meet these two challenges, Saint-Gobain Sully wants to set in place levers 4.0.
In this context, Saint-Gobain Sully asked Metis Consulting to support the definition of its 4.0 strategy. A 3-step approach was followed:
– The definition of the digital factory vision of Saint-Gobain Sully in 15/20 years through workshops powered by the technological expertise of Metis Consulting and by its knowledge of market solution providers
– Construction of the 3-year strategy of the digital factory, fuelled by case studies and visits of industrial firms that have deployed their 4.0 strategy
– Organization of teams (governance, skills, budget …) for the implementation in 2018 of a dozen of PoCs and pilots build around several technological bricks: RFID, MES, Cobot, AGV, augmented reality …
The implementation of the defined 4.0 strategy began with a first PoC based on Raspberry pi technology. It aims to improve the control of ovens and reduce non-quality.
